It would only have been better had I been sailing.
I spent the day working on Swimmer. Got the flooring removed, got that stubborn portlight out, removed the motor mount with its multimetal mounting hardware that was all fused together. Discovered what an inspection port was for, and am glad a PO installed it. Found a deficeincy in my cover set up that I corrected before heavy snow caused a disaster. I really enjoyed my time working on her. I've got a lot to do, but am still exuberant about it all. I took pictures because of course I have questions. When I get the disc back I'll post them.
Sounds like you had a good day matie......just remember it when a, eh, day of lesser quality shows up.....
Oscar C42 # 76 "Lady Kay" (Ex. C250 WB #618) Georgetown MD/Fort Lauderdale FL "Hindsight is 20/20, if I knew then what I know now, I would now be living on a small wooden sailboat, making a few bucks here and there playing a guitar and singing songs in bars."
A day fiddling on the boat is nearly as good as sailing itself. Put a little heater on board, sit back with a cup of your favorite libation, read some sailing magazines and dream of black sand beaches and palm trees swaying in the tradewinds.
That's the place, on Smith Cove. Where do you reside when on the water, slip or mooring? I see you're on the list that Jim (Scot Free) maintains. Looked at your web page, I don't recall meeting you this fall, but then, there are quite a few people there. Occasionally stop in at Molly Stark's for their Fish & Chips. No doubt you know where that is. We'll have to say "Hi neighbor" next spring.
I'm in a slip, closest to the mouth of the cove. I live about one mile south of the Molly Stark. I've met Jim and his wife, of Scot Free, nice folks. My webpage is out of date by about 5 years, sorry to say. Marriage, resultant changing houses, and putting a daughter through college got in the way of web updates. Current home email address is seastream@adelphia.net should you have need. I'm sure we'll meet sometime soon, either locally or up at the lake. Currently, I'm going through SDS (sailing deprivation syndrome). My take on winter is this; either give me a foot or more of snow, per occurrance, or give me weather that puts me and my boat back on the water!
