Bored....delayed going into Vegas by three hours....it's raining and 36 degrees there. they can't handle that.
Take picure of self with cell phone......download to laptop via bluetooth, fire up html interface, plant picture, fire up cell modem, upload page, capture address and post on C-25/250 forum:
I think this is a first...right? Of course I do have an excuse, all these toys are for getting weather etc on the boat....a serious affair.....
The rest of us aren't allowed to use our cell phones on the plane [:-)]
or did they change that?
Pat <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote"> He's on ground hold at the gate. That, or he's about to fly into a building while he's looking at his camera...
Don't worry Oscar...we will help you rationalize any toys you have!! Heck, the other day I bought a new Leatherman (I have 3 already) because it had a corkscrew!! Never know when the need will arise.
Hey Oscar, Please send us some pics of your 42 so we larger boat wannabees can drool a little.
I look at lots of pics on boats.com. It makes me want to get out of debt faster so I can start up a "boat fund" I have a large student loan payoff and our "lets tax all productive people more" political party won't let me deduct the interest. GRRRRR
Wow! I had no idea that the cameras built into cell phones could take pictures of such good image quality! You can easily make out the little airplane on the artificial horizon instrument; if the image was just a little better, you could probably read the labels on the instruments, too. Is the plane a 737? I assume so since the flight is a short-hop (Houston-Vegas).

Hairline comments go in the category with religion and politics! Your day will come, Frank.
Whatever whomever's worried about becoming, I do think this thread has crossed the line, whatever and wherever that is. Frank, that photo did not go well with my cereal this morning. And Oscar, I'm beginning to sympathize with the C42 Nazis. Could we please get back to talking about boats?
Those of us who use technology as a matter of course are very interested in working out the hows and whys of using our gadgets on our boats. I have a Mac laptop on my boat most days and a bluetooth cell phone but have as yet not been able to integrate the two so I can access this site from the water. Oscar, I would like to know more. Are you only using Bluetooth? What phone? What provider?
Hmmm... I guess I missed something... Those not interested in interfacing wireless devices can forthwith ignore this thread's existence. For those of us with bad hairlines, maybe we can start another tech-tip forum.
Wow, Oscar is that what the cockpit of a C-42 looks like? Dang! A technological marvel - must be a newer model. And that marina in the background sure looks nice. Glass enclosed docks. Too cool!
Yesterday I made my first real webpage, not just FTP space. It has the same pictures I posted on the forum but it is in fact a webpage. I'm so proud of myself! My sister-n-law tech guru took about a half an hour trying to figure out way my page wasn't showing up as html. So here it is. I know it's not up to par with Indisipline's, but bear with me.
<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by Ben - FL</i> <br />...but bare with me. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote"> Thanks, but I think I'll just let you bare yourself.
I am with you on the techno gadgetry. I use to travel extensively and I was lugging 2 laptops (Dell, and a Apple Powerbook) along with the other gadgets. I have lost a lot of little gadgets at security points.
this summerin additon to Auto Tiller/GPS, AM/FM, CD/ XM Sattelite and SSB radio.(All done this last summer) I am doing creature comforts on the boat. I am adding a custom built multi-media pc and a flat screen monitor/tv. And I will be adding my iPod I just got for x-mas to the list. I have a teenager and wife who need these things :).
For those who think this is over kill, you are right. However this is what I do for a living and other hobby, so I go overboard (no pun intended).
I have a smartphone that I use on my Laptop for internet access while in the hotel/airport etc.
