I am aghast and amazed but my '87 doesn't have a place within the anchor locker to attach the bitter end of the rode. Catalina direct has replacements, of course, but wouldn't that have been a standard item when the boat was built? Fortunately, I found out while checking things out rather than while tossing the anchor overboard.

Dont loose too much sleep over finding the "missing" part. My 88 does not have one either. I tie the bitter end through one of the cleats.

How did the trip go?

Tom.

Our boat did not have one either. It now has a bronze pad eye with a backing block on the aft port panel of the locker. Dave

Orion did not have one when purchased (20 years old, at that point!)so I added a stainless u-bolt type padeye, thru-bolted to a backing pad inside the boat on the bottom of the anchor rode locker. Have had the experience, years ago, of the anchor line getting away from the crewmwmber and zipping off into the water, whilst blowing like hell, as usual. A worthwhile retrofit, IMHO, ron srsk #2343 SW FL
