A guy who is looking at my boat this weekend would want only the boat and does not want to buy the trailer. I told him I really wanted to sell boat & trailer together. My question....is there a good market for Trail-Rite roller trailers? The trailer is like new after a sandblasting/paint job last year along with new tire/wheels/brakes. I guess if I had a buyer for the trailer lined-up I would consider selling only the boat. Any thoughts.
I'm not an expert but from what I've read on these forums, it doesn't seem like you would have any trouble selling a trailer for a C25 with a wing keel. Maybe you should keep it and make money renting it out to folks like me who only need one once in a while.
Or, how about if that fleet of '89 wing keels that seems to be forming out west all get together and buy it as the group trailer for use by the fleet members only.
Or, how many C25 WK owners in, say, Florida , would be willing to pitch in and own a share of a Florida trailer, available for use by reservation? I'd consider it if there were enough folks.
I recently got a quote for a new trailer for my Capri 25, it was almost $5000. If I could pick one up for $1500, I'd be ecstatic. Point being, I think you'll easily sell the trailer.
Nate, didn't you recently leave Lake Mojave/Las Vegas and move to the east coast somewhere? If you were out here on the west coast I might buy yours which sounds in great shape to replace mine which is old with some rust. If you haven't had an offer by the end of this weekend I'll be surprised. That being said, why the heck are you selling your boat. You must be buying a bigger boat.....
Thanks guys for the input.....I'll see how things go when this guy looks at the boat Sunday. Gary...we did move from Las Vegas last year. We are in Maryland so my wife can do her master's degree for the Air Force. The reason we are selling the boat is because with the kids so small we are finding it very difficult to use the boat enough. We figure we will go boatless for another 4-5 years and then ,depending on where my wifes last assignment finds us, we'll buy another boat and resume sailing with kids that can swim.
I'm in New York(Long Island that is) and looking for a trailor if we are close enough I'll bite. Val on the hard DAGNABIT Patchogue, N.Y. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote"> ... and then come to the Nationals in Kansas!
