We have had our 250 WK for three years in the Pacific NW. We have sling-launched the boat in and out in the summer season to keep the trailer out of saltwater. Since we dry-store the boat in winter only a couple of blocks away from the marina, we've had no need for a tow vehicle except to rent twice a season for launch and haul out. We are now wanting a truck, but can't decide for a smaller truck or larger truck which could be used to tow the boat distances if we chose to do so (cost is obviously a concern). One main consideration for us is whether or not there are sufficient facilities at lakes in the western U.S. that would accomodate trailer launching a wing keel, therefore justifying a larger tow vehicle. We have the trailer extender but have never experienced a ramp launch or retrieval. Does anyone know if most or even "many" ramps at lakes make a ramp-launch of the 250 WK feasible without going through exotic "gymnastics" or equipment modifications?
You should be able to ramp-launch your 250WK at any ramp with at least a 10% gradient, using the extender. On ramps with a 15% gradient, you might not even need the extender. Call ahead to check on the launching facilities at the marina you are interested in. Most freshwater lakes in California only accomodate smaller boats, so they don't have hoists or travel lifts, only ramps. The exception is Lake Tahoe, which has full facilities at Tahoe Keys Marina. Since your post says "Pacific NW / salt water", I assume you are keeping your boat somewhere between Sattle and Vancouver, with Puget Sound, the San Juans, and the Gulf Islands as your "home area". With all of that fantastic scenery, why would you ever need to go anywhere else? I envy any sailor who lives up there; the San Juan and Gulf Isnads are maybe one of the best cruising areas in the country. I could spend every summer for the rest of my life wandering around in my Catalina 25 and probably still not see all of it.
I think you should be able to trailer-launch a WK 25 at most major western lakes... provided you have a tongue extention (trivial to add.. at least to an EZ-Loader) or use a strap in combination with a dolly wheel. Many of the western lakes are really resiviors... and will have very long (read deep) launch ramps to accomodate seasonal fluctuations in water level.

Can't answer for them, (yes, it sure is pretty up there) If they're like me they may be craving some 'warm water' sailing... at a venue where the spray feels good on your face and you can just go jump in the water without freezing your biblical beast of burden.
