I have yet to drill into fiberglass on my C25. I am looking at mounting a stereo on the wall above the port settee. Does anyone know what length of screws I can comfortably use in this area? TIA Chris
Chris, I am not sure what Frank is showing us in his photo. Hello Frank, Wasup??? If you are talking about the space between the hull and the liner with the mounting screws going into the liner then the answer is "It depends". There is a gap between the two and it varies. Mark the stereo mount where you want it and then very carefully drill thru the liner. Don't push hard and you should be able to feel when you pass thru the liner and then just touch the outer hull. Then use the drill bit as a feeler to gauge the depth you have for the screws. They don't need to be very long, just enough to catch the liner. Some of us have made large cut outs in the liner behind the starboard settee to create shelves. The same can be done on the port side. There is that much space between the liner and the hull down around the seat level. Sorry no photos of this project. Just go slow and good luck.
Thanks Ed and Frank. I am using a gimbled poly planer case and the best fit seems to be against that outer wall. I wasn't sure if there was a liner/space or if I would be simply drilling through the hull. I will take it slow. Cheers, Chris
I am an idiot, I read "stereo speakers". I use a poly-planar cabinet that I have mounted under my shelf, It was easy to wire and removable. It works with any stereo.

It is a dehumidifier, a slow fan with a small heating element. Very quiet, I like it a lot.
