Sorry to resurrect what I'm sure has been a past post, but I've searched for 'leak' and come up with no hits.
1982 Catalina 25 FK accumulates water in the compartment area directly under the V-berth, right up against the bulkhead. I'm on-the-hard, so the water source is definitely from 'above'. The apparent 'flow lines' are on the port side of the inside hull, leading up in between the hull and the berth wall - so I can't really see where it starts. I would guess the potential sources are a stanchion base, the bow rail/pulpit, or the bow anchor storage compartment. Has anyone had a similar collection of water, and any success in identifying the source of the leak ?
I too have a similar problem only water develops on the port side compartment aft of the waste hoding tank.
I found by running water topside that it was both my stanchion posts, and genoa track. I would check both, also the anchor locker ( not sure if it can come from there but worth looking)
Sorry in advance if this has been suggested for your particular post but have you tried the (1) water-soluble marker technique? (2) seal-up the cabin and leaf-blower technique?
JM, I cured this problem by making sure that the small hole that drains the anchor locker is clear. Open your anchor locker up and if there is any standing water then you have found the problem. The drain hole is in the forward part of the locker and will plug very easily. If this drain doesn't let the water out then the only place to go is over the top of the locker and into the v-berth/storage area.

Take a stick of sidewalk chalk like the kids use and draw a line inside the hull. Look for the area that gets washed away when water enters. Posable sources are Anchor drain tube, Anchor compartment to hull joint, bow fitting, Stantions and pulpit and the deck prism.
Depending on the vintage of your boat, the stemhead fitting has a strap that goes down the stem, between the rub rail and the hull. Water can seep down this area and into the boat at the hull-deck joint if the person doing the fitting was a little overzealous with the router. Fill the area around the top of the strap where it goes behind the rub rail and voila, no more leak.
I was getting water under the V-berth, and found that it was running right down the bow crease. The most likely culprit seemed to be the anchor locker drain, which has a brass sleave that conducts the water from the molded locker and through the hull. A little silicone seal on the finger tip, wiped around the flared end of the tube in the locker fixed that. Not a drop down there now.
