I've removed the Whale Flipper water pump from Charm's galley and am now trying to figure out how it comes apart (the rebuild kit includes a drawing, but no instructions). I see the pin holding the internal lever arm to the operating lever, but I don't see how to pull the lever arm pin out and I see no way to drive it through. What am I missing? And I don't even see the bucket pin! It's apparently covered by a washer, but there's no washer in the replacement parts that looks anything like what I see already in place. Am I being too cautious? Is it just a matter of pulling the pin with a pair of pliers?
All suggestions and tips gratefully accepted,

I cleaned mine last winter. I never could get the pump lever off. The pin is pressed in and it wouldn't drive out no matter what I tried. So that part of it didn't get rebuilt. The pump piston has a pin hidden under a rubber O-ring or seal. Be careful taking those off. I tore the lip of one of the seals while I was removing it. So when I reinstalled them, that one went in the head sink figuring it wouldn't be used as much. To my surprise, it works just fine even with the tear; no noticable decrease in water flow. I just don't like putting defective parts back in.
