A picture is worth a thousand words

These fun projects kept me busy off and on during most of the winter.
The measurements provided in the previous winter project submission are incorrect. They should have been 18x24". Visiting a home show in Vancouver, Canada I noticed a set of three teak trays which gave me the idea to make a table and perhaps some other things. While working on the table one thing led to another and the extention was added, using the middle size tray while the second largets tray was cut in 1/3 and 2/3 and used for the shelf in the galley. Since a small crack in the teak panels of one tray made the set unfit for sale I bought all three for $20.00 Can. Normally the set would sell for $75.00 US

Well I'm going to steal your rear berth shelf design. Thats a very good idea for added space.

Henk some great ideas, nice job. I have a similar setup for my depth gauge as you have for the Garmin. I like the shelf for the horn and binocs & shelf above the sink - may utilize also.

Ray;
Have fun, the commodore will most likely enjoy it and/or anyone else saddled with galley duty. Personally I like the fact that the coffee pot is in sight and can smell the aroma of freshly ground and made coffee!

To suspend the galley shelf from the side, I made small 90 degrees brackets and hooked these behind and over top the teak side trim and routered the brackets into the underside of the shelf. A few small screws is all it takes to hold this firmly in place. The chromed/alum tubes are attached on the bottom to the plexiglass with bolts/nuts. On top I made a few small 1/4" 11/2x2 teak mounting plates to secure the top with small screws.

The winch handle storage box, binocs and horn racks are most likely ready made and came with the boat. I just fitted and attached the Garmin mounting teak base in between the winch handle and binocs units without having to drill holes in the teak paneling. I hate having to drill more than absolutely required Henk
