First let me say how thankful I am that this site exisits. It has really been helpful!! Here is my question: My boat (2000 250WK) sat unattended in a parking lot (at the dealership) for several months. When I picked it up, I noticed two (2) sets of small holes on the Port and Starboard side, just above the rubrail and above the "250" decal. Does anyone know what they are for? The dealership is not been too good in responding to my questions. I'm the original owner and I have not drilled any holes on my boat. Thanks in advance for your help!!
I never purchased a bimini. I called Lenore at Catalina Yachts today and she thinks it might have been a strap tie down or where a block/cleat might have been for a spinaker....
Thats what I was thinking, Looks like they drilled the holes and forgot to bolt on the cleat. I can't tell from the picture if there is a cleat already there somewhere.
The port and starboard aft cleats are still there (not seen in the picture). I'm starting to think that while the boat was at the dealership, somebody got confused and started to install a bimini.... The dealership denies this alligation :) Thanks for all the help with this!
Were is the picture?? How far apart are the holes? Bimini holes are usually 1 1/2" on center. It sounds like, as already said, someone tried to install a bimini on the wrong boat. If you can borrow a bimini foot take it out to the boat and see if it matches the holes. If it does, call some Italian inlaws, don't have to be yours, and have then take the dealer out by his neck and show him.
