I need one or two lower forward shrouds, preferably encased in the sheathing/tubing for my C 25 1978 standard rigging.....
(Do not necessarily need the turnbuckles)

to replace trashed shrouds (courtesy of tropical storm Cindy)

The only good out of all of this is that I subsequently pulled my boat the day before Dennis hit.

Thanks Don.

The only problem is, CD wants $119.95 plus shiping for a set of two and I am certain that at least one can be obtained through our web site for considerably less than that...all I really need is one.

Tom

5/32 seems right.

I am in Atlanta and boat is safely inland in North Pensacola.
I'll call my friend who is storing the boat and get a measurement on the one good forward lower shroud.

Thanks

Here's a picture of the shroud. Its measures 5/32, and is 13' 5" long.

That shroud will not work. Cat 25 does not have shroud slots for the T-bolt you show.
Georgia, dude, if your shroud is dead due to some specific incident to that a particular shroud then buy a new one. Yes I have some old shrouds but I replaced them because they are old!!! Why would you want unsafe rigging? If you have simply discovered a bad shroud then all of your standing rigging is suspect and you should buy all new. Don't scrimp on standing rigging, someone could die.

Once again, Frank is right

Call Catalina Direct and you will get a new shroud, or shrouds very quickly.

I have some old tall rig shrouds, but could not in good conscience give them away. I'm going to use them (and my old C22 shrouds) in my handrails when I rebuild my backyard deck

Get new ones, the mast you save could be your own

Frank and Frank

Ok you guys are right.....my thought now is to go ahead and buy the matched set of forward lower shrouds from CD...besides, I want to start replacing all my turnbuckes with the newer "open " type anyway.
And Frank Hopper...since you are at Channey......I assume you know Ken Solo (did a lot of Sweet 16 sailing with him in that association up until a few years ago.....is he still around?

Ken is now a Capri 25 sailor, Sweet 16 sailor, Fireball sailor, and O'Day 25 sailor. At least that is what I am aware of. He is a character!
