I don't have a boat but just saw a Catalina 25 from 1980 for sale in decent condition for EUR 8.000. (9.000 US$). Almost bought it as a spur of the moment but didn't. I wonder if this is reasonably priced and am also kinda worried about osmosis, any bad experinces?

Off the top of my head, with no additional information, I'd say way too much. Check here for comparison:

Good Afternoon, $9000 would be alot for a 25 year old boat, bare. Does this price include a Trailer? Outboard? New barrier coat? A recent Blister repair job? What are the Age and Number of sails? Roller furling Jib? $9000 might be a reasonable price if all of these items were included and in excellent shape. My 1980 # 1872 has most of these replaced or added in the past few years. The cost of the improvements was over $7000.

On my boat Osmotic blisters have been an issue. Another issue that you should consider is rot in the main bulkheads due to leaking chainplates Also look for stress cracks on deck around the forward edge of the cabin trunk. If they are there, you may have issues with rot and delamination in the deck. I've had it

Type of Keel is another issue to consider. Many C-25 Have swing keels, a short review of the past postings on this site will reveal that that can be a controversial topic among the members. They have their advantages and drawbacks My point would be to be sure that if you are unfamiliar with this system you need some one familiar with the issues to check the boat over.

Good luck!!
