Hi everyone, just wanted to say Hi and tell everyone that will listen I just got a 1984 Cat 25 and I love it. Needs a little work and I mean just a little. Like all boats I guess. This is not my 1st boat, but it is my 1st sail boat. ( I had a lot of motor boats in the past, wanted to try something new) Well I hope I don't make a big fool out of myself, but I'm going to ask a lot of questions. I don't think the guy I got her from knew that much, so he isn't much help, any way he's out of the country, so I'm going to depend on all of you.

Thanks in advance for all of your help, so stay tuned.

...and the keel? Welcome! And ask away! I learned a ton about these boats well before buying mine by lurking and asking questions here. (That's how my post count got so high--not from being any kind of "consultant".) BTW, when you're asking questions, it helps us to know the vintage, rig, and keel--you can put all of that in your "signature" that you set up under Profile (above) so it will automatically appear with every question, like this.....

>"...wanted to try something new..."

Based on my last week of powerboating, every time you sail past the gas pump, you'll have a big smile on your face.

Welcome Monty,

We have all been new to this forum at one time so don't be shy asking questions. visit the section on Tech Tips. Many of your questions may be answered there. As you become familiar with your boat you may find it helpful to get together with some other members of the forum if not for some fleet activity then at a minimum you may want to go for a sail on a members boat. depending on where you are located just about any one of us would be glad to help you.

good luck with your new boat.
