Hi Ken - that really depends… if you’re very handy with SS cable, swage ends, and the swage compression tool, then you can assemble one yourself just by duplicating your current forestay. A friend installed a wire railing on his extensive patio deck, and he got quite good specing the wire and swaging on the ends.
However! If you’re not so sure, or have never done anything like this before, you might not want to risk your mast, your guests, and your boat to a possible OOPS!
Catalina Direct sells the exact forestay for your boat. It might be a little pricey, but, they have done this for decades and stand behind their products.
Others may advise another commercial source, but CD answers the phone and can advise on any issues or compatibility questions you might have. They were awesome when I replaced my rig.

Oh, by the way, the forum testing page is kind of an obscure location for posting questions of a general nature or for a C25 specific question. I happened to see it when I clicked on “Active Topics” above.

Bruce, Thanks your reply on y search for a new forestay provider. I'm brand new to this forum so I don't know my way around very well. Russ Johnson gave me a hand logging on for the first time so we put my post where he suggested just to get going. I just purchased my C25 in October and have only sailed it twice before haul out. It's been a one owner boat hull number 6008 and built in 1990. There are a few things I'm in the process of fixing and the fore stay caught my attention right away because 4-5 wires were broken at the top swage fitting. The mast also had a considerable rake forward. Today I was able to get some good measurements of the two stays and found that, according to the manual for a post '88 tall rig, the fore stay is 3" too short and the back stay is a little over 9" too long! Besides Catalina Direct, I know someone that was the local Catalina Rep. and he might be interested in making up the new stays. I have done Nicopress fitting work, but I don't have the equipment to do the stays.
I'll let you know what my search turns up. Thanks again for helping out a new C25 owner. I'm sure I'll have more questions. The next one is about my leaky fore hatch. It seems that the insert is made of some sort of opaque synthetic material that is black in color. I believe that the original was translucent. One corner of the insert is bent up a little like it got caught by the jib sheet or something. I'm thinking of taking it apart and turning it upside down so I can try to get it to lay flat or if that doesn't work ordering a new lense or insert from Catalina Direct.
