Hi All:
I've just acquired a 2001 250WK. The companionway ladder is hinged and pushes up nicely to the overhead. Is there a way to prop it?

I cut a dowel rod to the appropriate length and wedge it into place. The pop top portion of the hatch has to be up for this to work.

I also drilled out the threads on the mounting brackets and replaced the machine screws with quick release pins. So, I can easily remove the entire ladder and set it out of the way.

We keep our extendable boat-hook on clips on the outer wall of the head just portside of the steps. When we prop the steps up, we use the boat hook and set the length as needed. Works great and doesn't require an additional piece of gear.

Quick release pins sounds very handy. Thanks for the ideas folks.

Regards, Chris.
