A couple weeks ago, my 1996 C250 WB, Little Wind, my wife and I bought in 2002 as the third owners was towed from its slip by the local salvage company. It had damages from the two big hurricanes that we got about a week apart last year and repair estimates for those damages were found to be more than the insured amount of the boat. The insurance company deemed it to be a total loss and the paperwork was completed to transfer ownership.
Although there were a few things I would have liked to have had different on my boat (really "our" boat as it was for my family), it served us well and we had many great sails aboard it. It will be missed.
This loss and salvage coincided with our city marina being closed for repairs with an estimated completion date of Dec 2026. My wife and I plan on purchasing another sailboat at that time and a C25 is on our shortlist. I am making a commitment to find a boat with most if not all the features we want. I believe there are boats out there that fit that bill.
I'll continue to check in here on the Association pages to keep up with what's going on.
