Yep... I'm an idiot so yes I gotta fess up... I was thinking my spin lock clutches were failing as they would lock up and bind the line and not close when I tried to close them.

That would be a feature .. to stop the line. The clutch only works normally when you open it completely. Open it all the way. Then it closes normally. Mine work great now.. now that I've read the instructions....

Hey Ray, good to hear from you! Nice to see that you’re still sailing Atlanta’s great inland sea! I use a little bit of silicone spray to keep the mechanism working smoothly, since sometimes it’ll stick in the slip position even if I fully engage it. Hang in there my friend and keep sailin’.
