Motoring out of the mouth of the Fraser River, British Columbia

On the way north under full sail with as end destination Princess Louisa Inlet with overnight stops at Gibson, Smugglers Cove, Pender Harbor and Egmont, BC

Leaving Pender Harbor, BC

Rafting at Smugglers Cove... an out-of-sight 360 degree protected snug little cove

Arrival at Sunshine Coast Resort Marina, Pender Harbour stretching our legs

Fun introduction and skippers meeting at "Back Eddy Marina", Egmont, BC the day before sailing non stop to Princess Louisa Inlet a distance of 34.5 NM... little did we know

Getting things ready for the 34.5 nm through Gervis Inlet

The day before setting out on the 35 nm of the Jervis Inlet on the way to Princess Louisa Inlet we had a big thunderstorm followed by a low moving in packing a significant inflow. As a consequence we had 6 to 7 ft following seas, wind whistling through the rigging, our tender racing by on the back of waves, the long shaft propeller lifting out of the water, lots of work to keep the boat on track and no place to hide

It all started out with a blue sky and a gentle breeze which soon would build rounding us up twice before we had to take all sail in and only use the outboard.

Ahh... this photo may not mean much but she is busy holding off our dingy which is threatening pushed by the waves to wreck itself on our stern. Once you enter the fjord there is nowhere to hide or anchor in the 550 meter 1100 ft depth.
