Hi Ken - that really depends… if you’re very handy with SS cable, swage ends, and the swage compression tool, then you can assemble one yourself just by duplicating your current forestay. A friend installed a wire railing on his extensive patio deck, and he got quite good specing the wire and swaging on the ends.
However! If you’re not so sure, or have never done anything like this before, you might not want to risk your mast, your guests, and your boat to a possible OOPS!
Catalina Direct sells the exact forestay for your boat. It might be a little pricey, but, they have done this for decades and stand behind their products.
Others may advise another commercial source, but CD answers the phone and can advise on any issues or compatibility questions you might have. They were awesome when I replaced my rig.
