Best wishes go out to all members on the west coast of Florida tonight as you make your storm preparations. As you know, this storm means business and most reasonable people will evacuate. Miami looks like a safe-ish area, as does the far-western panhandle and most of Alabama.
Watching the Weather Channel, seeing Orlando and Tampa residents making a bee-line North and West. Good luck to all our neighbors and sailing friends.
And ATL and SC members, it could be coming to you next. This weekend will be very tough in the South and the Southern Appalachians.
Check the watches and warnings and keep your canvas to a minimum.

My relatives were scheduled to begin a vacation in Venice on Friday. Thank God they didn't schedule it a week earlier.

My wife’s lifelong best friend and husband live in the Venice area. Thank gods they came to CT on Monday to visit their daughter and brother. They were originally scheduled to return tomorrow. They’ve changed their flights until this weekend.
