Can anyone point me in the direction of a how-to on replacing the early “volcano” thru hull with a proper one??
I just bought the boat and want to do this while it it on dry land!!

In essence, you remove the old to hull valve and pipe, grind the volcano flat and install a new bronze pipe and ball valve.

The actual through-hull mushroom piece

Note about hose clamps:
1. Always use stainless steel clamps. Test them out using a small magnet or your navigational compass. It they’re at all magnetic, then they are NOT SS.
2. Always use two in tandem, because when one fails, you’ll have a backup clamp.
