Fleet 25 in North Florida had our first cruise together. Five of the six boats were along for a steamy summer (I can't say sail 'cause we mostly motored) voyage. The wind that had been forecast took off during the day hours but was pleasant during the night. The three C-25s & two C-250s met up on the St. Johns river south of downtown Jacksonville and headed down river to Metropolitan Park Marina for free docking. Friday night was spent swapping stories and food and checking out each others vessels. Saturday morning after breakfast we headed further down river to the Jacksonville Zoo dock. After the tide began to ebb we had to get underway or be stuck in shallow waters. So it was back to the Metro Marina for Saturday night. It was like tailgating. The grill came out and those of us who neglected to bring chairs sat on coolers or cushions on the floating concrete docks. The kids went to play at the Kids Kampus park just on shore. Sunday morning we caught the flood tide back up river to our respective berths after using the free pump out. Also if you look closly at the pics you may notice our new burgees that Jerry and Sandy did an excellent job putting together for everyone. So I am very happy to report that Fleet 25 is off to a great start as the weather here in N. FL should be getting into prime time for cruising and racing as it begins to cool off. Next cruise is Cumberland Is. National Seashore in Nov.
BTW, anyone in the greater Jacksonville area who may be reading this and wanting to join our fleet should feel free to contact us here on the forum.

Safe voyages,
