Can anyone tell me the bolt size for the 4 bolts that hold up the forward swing keel. Catalina told me that there just SS bolts like the one you get in West Marine. Also, what tricks do you have to lower and brace the keel so I can scrap and seal the trunk.

I am pretty darn confident the keel fasteners are 3/8" bolts as they have a 9/16" hex head. My new gudgeon bolts are 5/16" and have a 1/2" hex head. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote"> I think Bruce is right. It was a long time ago when I replaced those bolts, but I remember that Catalina Direct sent the wrong size the first time ... they were for a C-22.
If you look at the drawing above, there is annotation at the bottom that says "C-22, C-25." My guess is that the bolt size on the drawing is for a C-22 ... I'm pretty sure the C-25 uses 3/8" bolts (not the 5/16" in the drawing).
C25 swing keel pivot bolts are 3/8-NC. The first time around, I bought a selection of lengths and used the longest ones which would fit (without the threads bottoming out before the head clamped the bearing block). I replace those bolts every time I do a bottom job. Stainless steel is not the ideal metal for use under water, particularly saltwater.
