How would a boat get wet inside? My boats are my weekend cabin and I keep them clean. I had a small shop vac behind the head with a hose long enough it worked as a built in vac. My lake is brown, no one gets in the water unless it is over 110. Catalina makes great carpet that feels great to bare feet late at night.
I installed carpet in our C25 also. Dampness was not a problem. I kept a tarp/boat cover over the cabin top when not sailing, dried off in the cockpit after swimming, and used a 24/7 solar powered Nicro Day/night vent. I just used regular carpet bought at a carpet store, 2 yds. x 8 ft. I think it was pretreated with a stain blocker like Scotchguard. I could have but didn't carpet the floor of the head, just the main salon. cost was $130.
The boat had carpet when purchased but it was nasty. My girlfriend hated it so we pulled it out. I love it. Much less slipping when you walk and warm. I'll be adding some in the main cabin.
After I figure out the cutout for the wine storage.
