Is there any way to keep Arlyn's look and feel to the additions to the web site? They are elegant and simple. I know programing takes many hours and the addition of an album area is greatly desirable but the photo gallery steps are labyrinthine and don't lead to an album that can easily shared.
I dunno, I like the gallery, and how it works. I don't link to it much, mostly because I am lazy and point to the files I can map over to on my own server literally feet away.
I also like that the full-res option is there. I can't wait to put pictures up that are from the boat outside and in warmer weather, but I dont' think it's the gallery limiting that ;)
What I find most fascinating is the AIS data. Linking to the location and zoomed map level. Whats interesting though is most of my pictures are already tagged with GPS data (cellphone).

As with any system, there is a learning curve. However the biggest benefit is that the 'Member' has complete control over the content (within the confines of the program) and can create an album without having to have someone else spend time manually building a page for their pics.
The exposure we are getting because of the Gallery System shows the value of the self service process.
I'm working on a video that shows the process of creating a new Album using the system.
Personally, but I am biased, I can put up an album with a dozen pics, titles and descrptions within just a couple of minutes. But I do know the process. Hopefully the 'Instructions' explain the process succintly. However, a 'how to' video will take it to the next step.
