The Admiral says we're moving up, so I guess we're moving up!
I just sent this info to Sailing Texas; I'll post the link when it arrives. I'll also be using sailboatlistings and craigslist; any other sites I should try?
Ken

I restored the topside gelcoat in 2012 and it only needed to be waxed in 2013. The deck gelcoat is faded but very sound with just about no spiderweb cracks. All gear is present and in good working order.
The cabin looks very good; all doors, drawers, knobs, and molding are there and recently treated with Howards Feed’n’Wax. All original cabin cushions are present and in good to very good condition. There is a V-berth all the way forward with a marine head on the port side aft of that. The head was rebuilt in 2012 and has a 14g holding tank. There is hanging locker opposite the head. The main cabin has 2 settees that face each other and a table on the forward bulkhead that folds down. Behind that is a huge quarterberth on the starboard side and a galley w/ cold water sink to port. There is no mounted stove. I have the original, but I use a butane burner.
The P303 is top of the list at the moment with 2 in our area and price range. If we can't score one of those, we'll probably look at 2 or 3 older E32s.
Another another price drop and bump to the top, sort of...
Here's the deal:
We have made an offer on a Bristol 29.9 from 1978 (repowered in 2002 w/ an 18hp diesel). If we can agree on a price, my Cat 25 will be steeply discounted to move it and make room for the new boat.
But I can't drop the price now because if we can't agree on a price for the B29.9 we aren't going to let the C25 go for cheap. You can't drop it then raise it up again. We've looked at the calendar and decided that if we can't get the B29.9, we'll keep the C25 for another season.
So the official asking price is still $6,800; it will be dropped to $6,300 at the end of this week or beginning of next. If we don't buy the Bristol, it will stay near $6k for the summer (probably drop again the fall).
If we do buy the Bristol, the asking price will drop to around $5k and no offense will be taken for any offer, no matter how low.
So watch this space for new developments.

I need for this stupid winter to end so I can get on board and get some decent pictures. The ones I have stink and everyone assumes that the pictures show the boat at its best.
The current owners of our new boat agreed to our offer.
The C25 simply has to go.
$5,500/OBO
I can help you launch it (Piscataqua River) or transport it (I've contracted a local company to transport it from our boat club to our home; it could go to your home instead.)
Don't let the price fool you; this is a fine boat with new sails and a dependable Honda. We sailed it from Portsmouth, NH to Portland, ME last year; we had a great time.
oh dear Ken: Someone here needs to pick this up. FANTASTIC price, and new sails to boot. G/L with the sale, I understand your situation living it just last year.
I am just about to spend over $500 to move this boat home.
For the next 4 days, I'll let it go for $3,500. I don't want to see it in my driveway.
It is still at the boat club, Eliot, ME. It could be launched into the Piscataqua River (paid) or the buyer could take over my transport reservation and have it brought somewhere else.
If launched, I have a gallon of bottom paint I can give you.
If shipped, I have 5 boat stands I could sell as a separate transaction. ($250)
you want it sold in a week? put it on ebay with 1500 starting price. you may get more. someone will probably just come by and buy it. Ive listed stuff all over, and finally sold it when i listed on ebay..
You could also donate it to boatangelsministries for value of $6000 and take the tax write-off that would probably exceed $1500 back at tax time. Just a thought. If it was a swing/wing with a trailer I'd jump right on it.

My accountant says that the IRS is cracking down on overvalued donations, especially above $5000. It puts you at greater risk of an audit, and if audited they generally will want to see a record of how much the charity sold the boat for.
Also note that an increasingly large number of middle-class taxpayers are becoming subject to the alternative minimum tax, which can significantly reduce the net effect of otherwise large tax deductions. Turbtax is great for what-if analysis of this type of stuff.
Rick S. - That is a great point, a few years ago we donated a very valuable Andrew Wyeth print to the Brandywine River Museum and set the value at $4,900 for that very reason. Even at $4,900 you could do OK at tax time and not raise any red flags.
This is really unreasonably low price. If I were you and had a free place for her (as you have), I would hold until spring when the boat market is much better.
Good luck selling.
PS: Add as much photos as you can or create special website with HQ photos. This will save you a lot of your time sending more photos over email or describing the state over the phone. Good ad really sells!!
Gary, Ken is trying really hard to sell his boat, and it is a killer deal- the deal of the century, in fact. Are you offering to help Roy transport the boat on your trailer if he buys it? You might want to edit or erase your latest posts so as to not appear like you are hijacking his F/S post
