Hi everyone. I am a new owner of a 250 MkII and while looking around the internet, I discovered that Catalina offered as an option when buying the boat new a nice companionway cover/dodger. I called up Catalina to see if I could order one and sadly, their inventory system said they didn't have any left with no plans to re-manufacture. The good new is that the parts department managed to actually find, not one, but two sets (canvas and frame) in the warehouse that were not inventoried. Those guys are awesome. I bought one of them earlier this morning.
I wanted to mention it quickly though since another 250 owner might be interested in the other one. It was quite a bit less pricy than having one made custom from scratch, which it was looking like was going to be our only option.
So this came today. Question for those that have this. Is there just the one U shaped frame piece? I was under the impression that there was a few straight pieces but I may be incorrect. I am guessing that the forwat part is held in place bt the swing up hatch? Anyone have a good picture of how this fits on the boat and how I will need to install the brackets? Thanks!
Just one U frame piece. The rest is held up by the hatch. It's easy to figure out as long as your snaps are attached. If not, you'll have some measuring and drilling to do.

You may wish to consider adding additional tubing to support the pop-top while the hatch is down and in closed position. This will allow you to lock-up the boat while away shopping, having dinner on shore, or an evening stroll with the pop-top in place.
If interested in this easy to store two part, zip strap connected, very simple yet effective add-on, we'll be happy to provide some measurements and required adjustments suggestions.

Both bottom angle pieces and the center bar stub are welded on. However, if welding is a problem you could consider friction fit wood plugs (IKEA style), into the tubes and screw the pieces together. Drilling a hole in the side of the tubes for a small screw or pin would secure the wood plugs.
The separate front leg is held in place with an untied zip-strap or anything else flexible through a couple of holes aligning stub and tube...
