When on a trailer is the weight of the boat mainly on the keel with the pads mainly holding the boat upright? This is a full 4' fin keel boat.

Catalina 25, std rig, full keel, Kerr Lake, VA.

I would agree. Yes. You can take a look at my rig here: https://rehabcatalina.blogspot.com/2018/01/welcome-aboard.html

More pics coming soon. Hope that helps!

I noticed the trailer almost sags to a proper weight on the pads if it were set up with the keel just toutching and the pads floating with the vessel supported otherwise. I spent many hours of research, ramp time and driveway time setting up a used trailer for the first time. I belive most weight should be on the keel. My trailer sags to were the pads do take part of the load.

My 1986 boat and trailer have rollers, no indentations on the hull where the boat and rollers meet.
