Hi Forum, I want to add a Lazy Jack system to Enchantment II. I was hoping for measurement points on the mast, spreader, boom. Enchantment II is a 1982 Catalina 25 TR, SK. I would like to add the hardware before I step the mast. Any opinion on using shock cord or 1/4 inch line? Any suggestions, opinions, etc are appreciated. All the best!
Shock cord is quickly degraded by sunlight and the stretchiness doesn't contribute to the function of lazy jacks. I'd suggest 3/16" line. Lazy jacks don't need the strength of 1/4" and line often swells when it absorbs salt and dirt, and it won't run through the pad eyes without snagging. That will make them hard to adjust.
