Saw this in a Sailing Texas ad. Interesting although I'm not sure how it works without removing the entire hatch.

I don't think it lifts off. I think that it just lifts up on support rods. I've seen one similar somewhere.

I think it may be a cover for a raised hatch, so the hatch is that shape underneath. I had a schooner with a similar hatch.
