I've got the bunks as high as they'll go and 4x6 blocks raising it another 6 inches. I have the keel down to get to as much of the paint as I can. I have the boat slightly twisted on the trailer so the keel could lay off the bunk. I also moved the port keel guide so I could get it as low as possible. It is now down between the axles.
This setup should obviously not be the normal configuration. I am in a controlled environment using a forklift and jack-stands to assist me in moving boat and bunks up and down as needed. Once I finish the bottom job I'll take another shot that looks like everyone is used to seeing. That ugly blue hull will be green like the rudder in the photo and slicker than owl s@#t. I used the rudder to experiment first.
Does that explain what looks odd or is there something else I should be concerned about?
I didn't think the swing keel had a 'foot' I think the dark area below the keel and below the stbd guide board is actually a shadow on the trailer axle. BTWDIK it's a C25! I didn't reailze the C25 had a skeg fwd of the rudder!
I now see the leading tip below the keel rest, the angle of the foot was all wrong if you just looked at what was aligned with the keel rest. When will you Poly Glow? The boot stripe will amaze you when your done. You ought to get one of these installed in your garage, it is real handy!
