Used dacron North Sail racing main, estimated mid to late 90's vintage but never really used until 2006 (PO parked boat). Was still fast last time I raced it in 2008, wanted a new EP #1 so purchased a used EP main to mate with it for last season.
Still crisp, some minor wear, still flattens out nicely I'd rate it "good", 70-80% life remaining Cross cut (not horizontal), loose foot Full batten upper, partials for lower 3 3 draft stripes No reef points (not really necessary for racing a CP25) Always stored rolled and off the boom, indoors off season $250 plus shipping
While I'm at it, might as well list the genoa (#1/155%) too. Similar vintage/history, mid- to late-90s, but little use until 2006. Material undetermined - definitely a higher performance than dacron, but not as high as kevlar/mylar.
I'd rate this one "good/fair" with about 60-65% life remaining - CP25 genoas take more abuse than the mains. It will still trim close to the spreaders, but will not be as flat as a new #1 (nor as expensive!).
Hanks on luff (#6, IIRC) 3 draft stripes Spreader patch Stancion patch (DIY addon using dacron sail repair tape) No window (other than tell tales) Leech/foot tensioners Always stored rolled in cabin during season, indoors and flaked/folded for off-season $175 + shipping
I was keeping these around as "cruising" and/or backup sails, but really only race any more. Email me at SailCO26 at Yahoo dot com for a pic if interested.
