While gone mine beat itself to pieces.

So speed is a factor. Price and longevity are as well.

Any places to consider?

A y to avoid?

110? 135? 150?

Consider a Sunbrella border for UV protection.

Make sure it's cut high enough to avoid chafe on the pulpit/lifelines/toggles.

Thinking about the 135. Really don't have money for any... thinking bigger and could furl in stronger winds.

Thoughts?

From what I've read in this forum, a 150 can easily overpower a C250, so the 135 seems to be the new maximum size, UNLESS you predominately sail in light air conditions, then maybe a 150. From what I've also read, a 135 on a furler will hold its shape better when reefed than a 150.

Back in 2012 I ordered new main and jib from National Sail Supply. The head sail info 110% Roller Furling Jib - 6oz dacron, Sunbrella UV protection on leech and foot in your choice of color, #6 luff
tape to suit existing CDI furling system - $680. I can send you the contact info if you are interested. They have all the layout for Catalina 250s

I got a new 135 from Ullman and have been very happy. I ordered the sail with the foam luff strips and it really does give a better shape while partially furled.

Got a new 110 from Bacon in Annapolis. The original Dacron sun shield was really not effective for protecting the sail. Go with Sunbrella!

Shredded my 110 in the 60th annual MUG Race on May 4th, 2013. So I replaced it with a 135 which I believe is what the wing keel model should have. Why it came with a 110 I don't know. It does make a difference. Don't believe I would want a 150. Not on the furler anyway. I have a 150 drifter I can hoist. The new 135 has white Sunbrella for UV protection, a must here in FL.

Safe voyages,

I have a new135 sail being made by Kingston Sailmakers(UK affiliated) in Sarasota. They measured boat, as 250s vary in track location ,etc . The price is almost double a price mentioned earlier in this thread, but I believe I will have a high quality long lasting sail. I spent a whole lot more for Ullman Carbon racing sails for my Capri 22 in Peoria!!

Bought a 135 genny from FX sails with blue edge cover. I think it was about $850-900.00. Looks smart but turned out to be more like a 150 than a 135. I even have to pull it in a few inches to get it snug enough to point well on a beat.
