Southwind II - Wood Burning Heater

The heater mounts on the main bulkhead, port side, with the chimney exiting through the coach roof. The stove burns wood, started with a newspaper or a piece of fireplace starter log. The heat is regulated by both a draft control in the chimney and by flue dampers on the stove itself. All the way from blazing roaring fire to glowing coals. For long time heat, the stove is air tight and a single 2" X 4" X 6" piece of wood will last for several hours. With the "front door" of the stove open, you get a great view of the flames inside - just like your fireplace at home! The heat is dry and heats up the Catalina-25 cabin in less than 10 minutes. As an additional safety factor, the fuel (wood or whatever) will burn out long before all oxygen would be used up in a tightly closed cabin.

A Charley Noble mounts low on the coach roof... provides excellent draft without fouling any lines or other stuff. Installation is no more difficult than installing a vent in the deck.
