    ALLIS - Misc. Modifications

    This tip submitted by glogner@laudaair.com

When not using the Autopilot sometimes the tiller shall be fixed in a particular position for a short time. Therefore I installed the tiller holder which can de easy engaged and disengaged.

For convenience Cup holders are installed which can be folded away if not used.

To adjust the back stay the same purchase and fiddle block is installed as on the boom vang.

All lines like main halyard, reef 1, reef 2, Spinnaker halyard, boom vang can be operated from the cockpit. A local Sheet metal shop modified the base of the mast, which is standard on the wing models.

Harken Deck Organizers are installed on each side of the deck to change the angel of the lines. XA tripple rope clutches on each side in front of the winches are mounted. Check out the Tech Tip: upgrade of the winches.

I replaced all 4 cleats to stainless steel versions. This gives me a better feeling as the small plastic version and in addition looks better.

In order to charge my cellular phone and hook up the Night Blaster a need for a cigarette lighter connector is required. I used the hand hole access panel near the electrical panel as mount.

The connector for the Autohelm Autopilot ST1000 remote control is located under the electrical panel. The cord reaches anywhere at the boat. In addition, thanks to Catalina for the forward facing cabin windows, the boat can be steered from the inside having full visibility by sitting on the steps and using the Autopilot and its remote. This is great if it really rains and you are motoring.

Lake Neusiedl has drinking water quality! In order to avoid pollution when washing dishes the drain can be switched from overboard to the 6 Gal water jug which collects the gray water. The jug is not required after the water system was modified.

    Forward Stainless Steal Cleat

XA Rope Clutches for controlling the lines from the Cockpit On the port side the cam can be identified for controlling the Genoa furling line.
