      R&R - Marine Head & Wash Down

Jabsco marine head clears wet locker door ok. A change I would make is to run the waste line to the left side of the locker partition. This would hide it more and take less space in the locker as the tank inlet turned out to be closer to the partion than the hull.

The holding tank is a 13 gal Todd. In this nest the tank support needs to be provided. I used a length of 1x12 under the tank, then vertical pieces (shaped to clear the hull and fit around bilge line) as support.

A macerator pump is used to provide self discharging at home. The waste tank fits against the rear partition with the pump screwed directly into the tank thru a 2" hole in partition. Power for the pump is run from the battery to a relay in the wet locker. A push button switch can be uncoiled out of the boat for operation of the pump while filling a jerry can for disposal.

Two 9 gal Todd tanks set at angles (requires less space) under the v-berth. The vent line is run forward to a thru hull in the anchor locker. Filling is done thru the supply line. A plywood chock is adhered to the floor of locker to keep tanks in place.

A blaster pump is installed on the bulkhead between the starboard seat and the galley cabinet. This plumbing includes a single valve used when filling water tanks and a three position Y valve which allows the pump to draw fresh or sea water, provide fresh water to head, or allow water tanks to be drained.

In the bilge a seacock with tee above provides intake for head and wash down pump.

A hosebib with 15 ft hose is installed in the sink cabinet. This hose is used for water tank filling, pumping water into sink, shower, and wash down.

The exits include a 1.5" pump out fitting and a 5/8" thru hull for vent.
