Miss Adventure - Single Line Reefing

I took 2 Harken 082 blocks and 2 Sedog Reefing (or Downhaul) Hooks. I split one of the reefing hooks in a vise by turning on the access (it's impossible to pull it apart), then slipped in the block and retightened. I did the other the same way.

Next I put the hook through aft reefing cringle so block is on the port side of sail. I ran the reefing line up through block and down to boom. I tied mine off to the mainsail sheet shackle or you can install an eyehook of some kind

On forward cringle I also put the hook through so block was on the port side of sail. After running the line through through the block on mast and up through the cringle hook block, I ran my line down to jib halyard cleat (I have roller furler so I don't use the jib halyard.)

Now I can reef from the cockpit by controlling both the main halyard and reefing line. If I want to use my second reefing point I tie off the first cringles to the boom and move the hooks up. It works great.
