I'm still looking for a cowling for my Nissan 8hp outboard - does anyone have any ideas? (I've posted my need on e-bay without a response so far). Derek

I was able to get a cowling cover for a 8 hp tohatsu (same thing) and I think I still have the old cracked one laying around If I can find it, its yours, but I think your looking for something uncracked. I called/emailed the tohatsu national sales rep directly. I might still have his email address, let me check when I get back in on monday. If I have it I'll send it direct to you.
Nissan - Tohatsu ??? I was browsing the Mercury website and looked up the serial number of my son's new merc 6.0 long shaft and it indicated it was a Tohatsu!

But the black cowling might look a little funny with Derek's gray lower unit--sorta like the green fender from the junkyard, bolted to the blue car...

This ties in well with the thread on outboard thefts. Your engine will be much safer with two different colors and some duct tape. Red Green would be proud of you.
