I have a chance to buy a used Zuma sailboat. Anyone have any info about them? I'm just looking to play with it. Not much info on the web that I can find.
thanks,
Dan

A neat little boat--most of them built by AMF, who built the Sunfish for many years--now by Vanguard, who builds every major entry in that category... Broader beam and larger cockpit than the Sunfish, and a rig similar to the Laser but a little less "hot" for novice sailors. Planes easily--a blast to sail, just as are the Sunfish and Laser. If you have any notions about racing, the latter have many more racing fleets and events, but for just having a good time, the Zuma is as good as it gets!

Patchogue has/had a sailing school that used Zumas as their main instrument for instruction. Neat little shaver.

I have a Zuma and sail it for fun near Neebish Island, my summer home. A little more beam than a laser so more stable for novices. my teenage nephews like it and it's great for just poking around or taking on some heavy wind. Under the latter conditions it really flies.
