My FF4 directions call for the tack (downhaul grommet actually) to be connected to the luff shackle with a few loops 1/4" rope. I did this and have no problems with it. A friend has a 34 and is about ready to sail and says he is missing the fitting that connects the tack to the furler. I said to just use rope, but this leads to a question. When I West Marine today I saw a fitting that could be used for this. It was about 3" long and had a turnbuckle in it. I almost bought it, but then again, rope is pretty simple. I was curious what others are using?
