We'll be anchoring out somewhere between Deltaville & Reedville on the Cheapeake. It's supposed to be absolutely lovely weather. Give us a hail if you see us.
Friday we arrived at Black Point Marina late evening. Decided to eat dinner at Pirates Den before rigging and launching JD. We added the post to this topic at the table (thanks to my handy dandy Pocket PC :)
Then the skies opened up and it poured, thunder, lightening, almost gale force winds.. Not the time to prep the boat for the first time at night.
So we camped out on board. Pretty peaceful night too.
1st Thing Saturday we had breakfast on board, rigged and launched before 10am. It was the coolest day we have had so far when launching JD, didn't even break out a sweat.
Wind died, and we motored over to Elliot key on the east side of Biscayne Bay, the stormes returned! Peggys' foul weather jacket flew overboard. It wasn't that bad really so I snorkled over to pick it up. Later that afternoon we motored into the marine, quite good! Showers, -BQ's Nature trail, and the slips are pretty good too. Only costs $10 per night. But we feared the Mosquitos, so we motored back out to 6' depth and had supper at anchor. The bad weather returned and the bay was pretty choppy. Could not sleep alnight, see other post about that. Sunday we were sailing at great 5+ Knots north when yet again the weather turned heavy. When it hit 20knots, I called it. We headed into Black point for lunch and it didn't improve. So we pulled the boat. See other post about that too.
So for all of you out there that are having a great sail this weekend, we're with you. Evne the heavy weather was fun (for me, Pegs was not really enjoying it, hence reason for calling it a day.)
bah humbug. Labor Day means just that. Working today and then have chores when I get home in the afternoon. Been sailing 3 days a week all summer, now I have to pay the piper (first mate). Have fun guys/gals watch out for the squirrels.
