Just took out my micro and butane stove. Bought (ouch!) a new Origo 3000 2-burner stove. I'm setting it up with their gimbals. Is there any trick in mounting this? I have a traditional interior and it looks like, to get the full gimbal effect, I will have to make a mount for the ice box side that is about 3" higher than the counter. Does this make sense? Do I need the full gimbal effect. Saw a picture of an installation on the site but I can't find it through a search. In fact, can't really find anything. Any insight would be a big help. Thanks,Ed Spengeman Ps. About to get off an inland lake in INdy and take her to her first home-Lake Michigan - for my first time.

You will this to be one fantastic stove! I've used the daylights out of it and can't recommend it enough. To be honest - in the two years I've owned it - I've never had a need for gimbals. If it's too rough while underway, I just don't see any business messing with cooking or boiling water. The vast majority of it's use is while at anchor or docked. I would recommend skipping the gimbals. Doubt you will use them if you just cruise around.
I removed the original princess "curtain burner stove" but left in the stainless steel liner in the boat. I just set my Origo 3000 into it without gimballs. I only cook when at anchor anyways so didn't get the gimballs. You will like the Origo, it's safe, and simple and really cooks a pot of water really fast.
Question: The Catalina 25 I just purchased, Tako Kichi, came with the Origo 3000. It needs to be cleaned. Anyone have suggestions for products/cleaning method?
The stove fit right in stainless steel liner and you can use the original cutting board. There is actually a lip that keeps it from tipping over, but if you use one of those rubber matts under the stove that thing will never move! Notice the curtain?
