We have installed a New solar Vent on top of the coach roof on "Leprechaun" this year and now that it is getting to the end of the season ,and we will put her in the barn for the winter , Can we trailer her with the vent in or do we need to pull the vent and put the cover on? Can we or should we put the vent back in when in the storage barn? . Thanks for all your help! If you do not belong to our association / please join and support us All! . With "Leprechaun" still on the Water..

"The clink of an anchor - chain, the 'Yo-Ho!' of a well time crew, the flapping of huge sails - I love all these sounds."
I don't see any need to pull the vent, but since the NiCad battery will soon run out in the barn, I'd remove that. NiCads have somewhat limited lives anyway--you might find that it needs replacing (Radio Shack and elsewhere) to be effective next season.
We trailer ours with the vent in. But I imagine if we hit rain it would come right inside. When sailing first thing we do when we get water on deck is pop out the vent and put the plug in. Ours in mounted in the forward hatch and it does not take much to have some run inside and get the kids beds wet. While at home rain has never been a problem. Fan is a couple of years old and still works as it did when new. Don't know about long term storage indoors.
