Okay - after our recent East Coast monsoon, I've decided to break down and re-seal all my windows. Just ordered the kit from CD.
Question - is this an easy straight forward one day kinda job? Are there Notes, Cautions and Warnings that I should know about? The likes of Franks' expertise out there?
Search the archives on "Windows Success Story" and you will find my posting on how I did mine. I would not say it is the definative source for answers but it may help.
when you put the glass back in the frames, you really do need a helper. i didnt have a helper and it was a mess, so took the remaining 5 windows to the glass shop who completed the job in les than 1/2 day and charged me 70 bucks. worth it to me. putting them back in the boat is straightforward. use plenty of sealant.
Ditto's to Dave, this is a 4 hands operation. mine went fairly well and the leaks were stopped ( for the most part) . be sure you do a thorough gooping of the inner channel I still have water coming in through the vinyl galzing on one window. having a glass shop do the job sounds like a good suggestion. I wish I had thought of it.
