Just got a copy of the Sep/Oct 2005 issue of the Small Craft Advisor and low and behold there's a article on this past years BEER Cruise. Here's a small quote from the article;
"Although this was definitely not a race, whenever 53 sailboats get out on the water together, races will occur. The larger boats, like Sam Hunter's MacGregor 26S, Dragonfly, Ben Allen's Latte Dah, an O'Day, a Catalina 250 from Georgia owned by Tom and Cyndi Potter, Grant Lopez's Seaward 25 Dream Catcher, Tom Gepfrich's Catalina 25, and a Hunter 260 broke away early and established themselfs at the front of the pack."
I don't recall seeing those other boats anywhere near us, do you Tom?
Tom, I am pondering that one as well. One thing I can say though. Anytime the wind is behind the beam and reasonable, the chute goes up and the race is on! That was some great sailing.
