I need help. In preparation for hurricane Ivan last year, we removed the sails, boom, outboard, etc. from our C-25..didn't get around to putting things back until several weeks later. Replaced all but the jib. Never did get around to putting it back up. Now we are selling the boat and our prospective buyer wants to take it out this weekend. Here is my I-hope-not-too-dumb question: How does the jib attach to the line that pulls it back to the top of the furler (CDI)? I know I ended up with lots of little pieces of hardware in my pockets, but I don't know if it is attached with a shackle to the line, and I hope this isn't an even dumber question, but here goes: What kind of knot should I use to secure the shackle to the line?
Thank you so much!

Big Piece of info number 1 The sail goes on the side with the loose halyard, not the side with the halyard inside the track.
I tie the halyard on my sail and tie a lenth of downhaul line to the tack.
I tie another piece of downhaul line to the "traveler" that is the "other side of the halyard.

I can't tell you how many times I had to start over because it just seems as though it has to go the other way!
