A topic close to heart. Good use of resources. I haven't used the clubs in more than a year. But when you hit the ball just right.... obviously I'm struggling with this one.
Brilliant Frank! For what it's worth, the following is a little ditty I wrote after watching my dad spend 50+ years trying to find the "secret" to better golf: ______________________________________________________________________
THE FIRST TEE
He boldly makes his club selection, The shaft gleams bright; the sun's reflection. The fairway glistens wet with dew, A gentle autumn breeze blows through.
While bending almost reverently He sets the ball upon the tee, Steps back and says a silent prayer, And eyes the green, "Please God....right there."
He steps up to address the ball While mentally he pictures all The secrets of a textbook swing, From tee to green, like on a string.
His head is down, his left arm straight, He's mastered how to concentrate. His stance correct, his knees are bent, The club begins its rear ascent.
He glides the club back, cocks his wrists, Ah yes! The perfect swing exists! If ever he were going to hit A faultless shot, this one is it.
In picture perfect symmetry, He starts his downswing gracefully. The club face sweetly meets the ball, The single greatest sound of all.
He lifts his head in time to see.... The ball colliding with a tree And ricocheting out of bounds, Just like it did the last three rounds.
They say it takes much wisdom to Admit the things one cannot do. And that's the high road he shall take As bag and clubs sink in the lake.
