My family and I are flying to LAX/Long Beach for the Christmas Holidays. I would love a real break from this east coast weather and would like to know if anyone recommends a place to charter/rent a boat for a day - anything comparable to a 25 - not looking at going far or overnight. Just a day sail.
On another note - is a visit to the Catalina factory worth the tour? Thanks fellas!
It is odd how some posts just lay there isn't it. I would google "rent sailboat Los Angeles" and see what I got. I know thgat several marinas out there rent 250s.
By the way, have you ever successfully posted a photo? Your sig photo does not show up. That is usually because someone has linked to their own machine. When you do that you see it but you are the only one who sees it.
Humm.. I can see the photo and it's linked to images/kodakgallery.com I have noticed sometimes it shows and sometimes it doesn't.
I did find a couple of marinas that will rent the boats out for the day. I guess I was looking for a little feedback interms of good marinas and good areas to sail. San Diego v. Long Beach as an example. I was hoping maybe Jim would have something to say. I think he is from that area...
If you want to drive to San Diego, you can go sailing on Indiscipline any day. Also, in Mission Bay were I have my slip you can rent a C250 for $45/hr, they also have a daily rate, I believe $125. Google Seaforth Mission Bay.
