We need to replace our 1995 8HP Honda OB, and need recommendations as to make and HP that will fit 1995 Catalina. Our sailing is on Charlotte Harbor in SW Florida.

If it were me.... I would go with either the Tohatsu or Nissan 9.8, 4 stroke. Which ever type of outboard you get just make sure you get the 25" shaft.

If you don't mind what is wrong with the Honda outboard? A lot of us still have this classic outboard and many have been repaired online by forum members.

I can imagine what is wrong with the OB. My 94 is awaiting disposition in the garage. 10 years of salt water. Not much maintenance. A recipie for....corrosion and......a $2000 replacement. The Nissan is a fine engine. And the price is right.
