Sounds like a winner! Funny thing, when I bought my boat last spring, it was very dark in places and green. I dreaded the task of scrubbing. I used a mild abrasive scouring pad (green scrub on one side, sponge on the other) and river water. It all came off and stayed off.
>"Did you use Tilex full strenght or dilute it?"
I just wet the surface using the sprayer built into the Tilex bottle. Waited a few minutes and scrubbed with a soft deck brush.. rinsed with freshwater hose. Worked like a charm. I did the entire topsides (deck, sides, transom and rudder). Entire operation used nearly a full (16 oz?) bottle... but it was pretty gnarly to start with.
Hopefully it will be good for a couple months here in the rainy Pacific NW. The salt spray that drifts into the marina from the ocean has lots of organic material in it... excellent food for mold and mildew.
